Every Day by David Levithan – Every Day #1 (EPUB)
Every day a different body. Everyday a different life. Every day in love with the same girl.
There’s never any warning about where it will be or who it will be. A has made peace with that, even established guidelines by which to live: Never get too attached. Avoid being noticed. Do not interfere.
It’s all fine until the morning that A wakes up in the body of Justin and meets Justin’s girlfriend, Rhiannon. From that moment, the rules by which A has been living no longer apply. Because finally A has found someone he wants to be with—day in, day out, day after day.
Every day, for as long as he can remember, he wakes up in a different body: sometimes as a girl, sometimes with a different ethnicity, sometimes with a different sexual orientation. He’s long recognized the futility of trying to create lasting relationships, but everything changes when he meets Rhiannon, a girl who makes him want things he’s never thought possible.
David Levithan creates stories that tackle realities of modern life and depicts profound lead characters that have something intelligent and thoughtful to say about the world. This reading felt to me like an introduction to the world and to people who inhabit it. It’s the most wonderful book about what it means to be human. The romance, most precisely, is what kept me from enjoying it fully and thoroughly. Highly recommended. This story will be one of those days and memories that stick with you.
